It’s not in your plan
The biggest money maker for your business will not be in your original plan.
I’ll 100% guarantee it.
The “thing” that will make you the most successful isn’t on your radar yet.
Let me give you a crazy (and true) story.
I met a guy (let’s call him Joe) one evening at the local bar.
We got to talking.
Turns out Joe started a same day laundry delivery service a few weeks before we met.
Joe had a nice business plan, a freshly designed logo, and goals for the year.
My wife was with me and blurted “If only you washed horse blankets, you’d make a killing!!”
(Yes, we have a horse but that’s a different topic for different day)
99% of people would have laughed and moved on with the conversation.
But not Joe.
Joe paused for an extended period… almost awkward silence.
Joe then started asking a hundred questions.
Joe didn’t know anything about horse ownership
Joe didn’t know a single horse owner.
Joe didn’t know horses wear blankets (mind = blown).
But….
Joe was extremely curious.
Joe wanted to learn what he didn’t know.
Joe was open minded to the possibility that he might not have it all figured out.
Joe saw something 99.99% miss and why most people never capitalize on a thing called luck.
Joe had a master business plan already but stumbled upon something that completely changed that plan.
Let’s fast forward to today (just 6 weeks since we met).
Joe is now washing 300+ horse blankets monthly at $35 per blanket.
You do the math….
Joe will be washing 1,000 horse blankets before he knows it.
The most successful business started as one thing and ended as another.
Amazon started selling books.
Today, Amazon now hosts Thursday Night Football.
YouTube started off as a dating website (I know, I was shocked too).
Today, YouTube users watch over 1 billion hours of videos per day.
Twitter started as a Podcast platform.
Today, X (Twitter) sends 500 million tweets per day.
3M started as a mining company.
You now hang your pictures with their hooks and tape.
Be open to the idea that you don’t have all the answers.
Be open to the idea you don’t have the perfect plan.
The most important thing in your business isn’t in your plan yet 😉.
